“The Ministry of Agriculture's Horticulture Director General Prihasto Setyanto will encourage Korean investors to invest in the development and management of horticultural plantation results in West Sulawesi,” he informed.
The ministry has lauded the West Sulawesi provincial government's efforts to continue to develop coordination and collaboration with the central government in developing its agriculture and plantation sector.
"The ministry has a network with Korea to invest and develop investment related to commodities that can be developed in West Sulawesi," he informed.
According to Malik, West Sulawesi has a wealth of potential that can be developed in the plantation sector, but it has not been fully well-managed.
In addition to increasing investment, the West Sulawesi provincial government has also developed collaboration with the ministry to receive budget support.
The collaboration has also been undertaken to script a more accurate development in the agriculture and plantation sector to improve West Sulawesi's economy.
"West Sulawesi will be a region that supplies food demand for the development of the national capital city (IKN) in East Kalimantan," he said.
“Thus, it continues to expect central aid to develop its agriculture and development sector, in addition to developing economic cooperation with the government in East Kalimantan," he added.
The West Sulawesi government will also lend support to the central government at the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) Convention.
The UPOV must be supported since it will affect the development of West Sulawesi's plantation and increase its investment, he explained.
The convention will be participated by 76 countries, including the United States, Japan, and European Union countries.
