The results of the survey can also provide recommendations on the preparation for the implementation of Hajj pilgrimage next year...Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government’s 2022 Hajj pilgrimage services were considered very satisfactory by pilgrims, Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Margo Yuwono said on Monday, based on the results of a survey.
"In general, Indonesian pilgrims have assessed that all the (2022 Hajj) services provided by the government are very satisfactory," he informed at a press conference here.
According to BPS, the total pilgrims’ satisfaction index rose by 4.54 points to 90.45 in 2022 from 85.91 in the previous Hajj pilgrimage implementation in 2019.
Yuwono reported that the satisfaction index has tended to increase since 2010.
In the survey, pilgrims assessed the capability of officers in fulfilling their tasks, guiding services, information and communication services, assurance and security, readiness of service implementation, ease of obtaining services, as well as the attitude and friendliness of officers.

According to the results of the survey, there was an increase in the satisfaction index in all aspects of the Hajj services, including interaction with Hajj officers, worship, transportation, accommodation, meals, as well as health services.
Compared to 2019, Hajj pilgrims' satisfaction with the services provided in the Medina Working Area in 2022 rose to 89.42 from 86.44; while the index increased to 91.57 from 87.89 in the Mecca Working Area.
Furthermore, the satisfaction index in the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina Working Areas as well as the King Abdulaziz International Airport Working Area jumped to 89.64 from 82.57 and to 91.28 from 87.94, respectively.
“We express our appreciation to the government (for the achievement),” the BPS head said.
Still, the results of the survey should be interpreted wisely, given the smaller quota and the relatively better physical condition of the pilgrims, he added.

Fewer pilgrims were served in 2022 compared to in the previous years, as the government of Saudi Arabia implemented several restrictions to mitigate COVID-19 transmission.
The pilgrim quota allotted to Indonesia in 2019 was up to 221 thousand, while in 2022, Indonesia was only allowed to dispatch 100,051 pilgrims.
In addition, the age of pilgrims performing Hajj in 2022 was capped at 65 years, according to the provisions of the government of Saudi Arabia, thus, around 75 percent of Indonesian pilgrims were aged 41 to 60 years.
“The results of the survey can also provide recommendations on the preparation for the implementation of Hajj pilgrimage next year (in 2023) since the number of the pilgrims will return to normal," Yuwono informed.
