The first visit for the south coast route began from the Jakarta Cathedral Church to see the church's readiness in handling this year's Christmas celebration
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Health Ministry facilitates 14,641 health service facilities on the Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 homecoming route through cooperation with related institutions and regional governments.

These facilities comprised 901 health posts, 3,117 hospitals, 51 Seaport Health Offices (KKPs), and 251 Public Safety Center (PSC) 119, Primary Health Service Director at the Ministry Yanti Herman stated here, Thursday.

Herman called for the need for Public Health Centers (Puskesmas), hospitals, and PSC 119 located on the main homecoming route to prepare human resources and services for 24 hours.

The government estimated the people's movement to rise by 16.35 percent, or equivalent to 44.17 million people, with 7.1 million people among them moving in the Greater Jakarta area.

Given this high mobilization level, there is a concern that this will trigger a spike in COVID-19 cases and other incidents, such as traffic accidents, Herman noted.

He cautioned that the pandemic was not yet fully over while pointing out that the likelihood of infection transmission still existed, including for other non-COVID-19 diseases.

The ministry has coordinated with all related institutions to take actions to prevent COVID-19 infection.

Health posts have been prepared at toll exits, non-toll roads, crossings, airports, places of worship, as well as tourist destinations.

In addition to preparing these health facilities, the ministry facilitates vaccination service, specifically for booster dose, at several health posts and Puskesmas.

Moreover, health promotion on the importance of health protocols during the Christmas and New Year holidays is also undertaken at all established health posts.

Meanwhile, the Primary Health Service Directorate Team is assigned to monitor the readiness of health posts and their facilities and infrastructure.

This monitoring is conducted on December 21-23, 2022, at the north coast route, south coast route, and Merak-Bakauheni route.

"The first visit for the south coast route began from the Jakarta Cathedral Church to see the church's readiness in handling this year's Christmas celebration," Herman noted.
