Manila, the Philippines (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) ensured naturalization of three players -- Justin Hubner, Ivar Jenner, and Rafael Struick -- who are projected to strengthen the under 20 (U-20) national team.

"Chairperson (of PSSI) assured the players' parents that he would treat their children like his own. He ensured the security, safety, happiness, and success of the three players," PSSI's representative for the naturalization program, Hamdan Hamedan, stated at Manila, the Philippines, Sunday (January 1).

After hearing the reassuring statement in-person, the parents felt confident and approved their children's naturalization program.

They finally agreed to the naturalization of their children and expressed confidence in PSSI's naturalization program. The deal was important since players under the age of 21 should obtain their parents' approval if they are looking to change their nationality, Hamedan remarked.

He revealed that the naturalization processes of Hubner, Jenner, and Struick is ongoing and is currently in the document collection period.

As proposed by Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, the naturalization of the three players will be reduced to one session in the House of Representatives.

The simplified process is being conducted, so that the three players can strengthen the Indonesian U-20 national team at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup on May 20-June 11, 2023.

Minister Amali emphasized the need for Indonesia to achieve success in terms of implementation, achievements, administration, and economic benefits in the U-20 World Cup.

"Hopefully, with the support of various parties, the naturalization will be completed soon," Hamedan remarked.

Hubner, 19, is a Dutch player, who plays as a center-back. The 1.87-metre footballer is currently playing at Wolverhampton Wanderers Under 21 (U-21) team in England.

Jenner, 18, is a midfielder, who is also from the Netherlands. He currently plays for FC Utrecht U-21 squad in the Netherlands.

Struick, 19, from the Netherlands, is a winger for Dutch's ADO Den Haag.
