It is our duty to protect these (tourism) areas.
Mataram, NTB (ANTARA) - West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Zulkieflimansyah invited all parties to strengthen the province’s tourism promotion attempts with a tagline of ‘NTB: The Land of Infinite Experience’.

"If people want to enjoy their life, NTB is the Land of Infinite Experience, which means that everything is here -- there are mountains, beaches, and all (other) tourism (destinations). There are (also) culinary delights, tourism villages, and traditional events,” he remarked.

He said in a statement received on Sunday that the tagline was chosen to highlight the potentials of the province, both to local people and to the international community -- similar to the ‘Wonderful Indonesia’ tagline used by the central government to describe Indonesia to the world.

"The tourism destinations in NTB are very complete actually. They also offer various tourism types and concepts. Thus all people should know that NTB is the Land of Infinite Experience," the governor stated.

Hence, he asked for the cooperation of all tourism actors in the province to realize the tagline.

Thus, he encourages the tourism business players to not only intensify the promotion of sports tourism events, but also the events of other tourism sub-sectors in the region.

Since 2021, the province has been the host of a number of international racing competitions, such as Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP), MotoGP, and World Superbike (WSBK).

"In NTB, there are also many other prominent destinations in Lombok, Sumbawa, Dompu, and Bima, which are interesting and able to provide unforgettable experiences for visitors," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of NTB Sitti Rohmi Djalilah said that in addition to intensifying the promotion for various tourism events and destinations, the provincial government also strived to maintain the environment and sustainability of the destinations.

"It is our duty to protect these (tourism) areas. Hence, we implement several programs for that (environment conservation), such as zero waste, NTB Green, (application of) renewable energy, and sustainable tourism development," she remarked.

The deputy governor further said the programs could be implemented thanks to NTB Provincial Government's collaboration with various parties, since the government cannot work alone in addressing the environmental issue.

"In 2021, we were invited to partake in the COP-26 in the UK. At the forum, we stated that NTB is ready for (achieving) Net Zero Emissions (NZE) in 2050. We know that we cannot achieve it alone. Hence, we are happy to collaborate with all parties for new initiatives and innovations," she added.
