The course will last for six days, from January 25 to February 2, 2023, head of the public relations division at the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo stated on Friday.
"This course is in order to pursue a more systematic and structured football match security system," he stated here on Friday.
Prasetyo also noted that the course was expected to realize the development of adaptive rules in terms of football competitions, such as Police Regulation Number 10 of 2022 on sports security, which was issued following the Kanjuruhan Tragedy.
It regulates the forms of security, execution, licensing mechanisms, risk assessment, security zones setups, security personnel and equipment, and actions that must be taken by security personnel.
Prasetyo remarked that there would be five trainers in this course, comprising three academics and two commanders, with certificates in football matches security.
"These two trainers are certified and experienced in leading the security of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar," he stated.
The National Police hosts the course in collaboration with the Police Science University (PTIK) and Coventry University.

There are many targets they sought to achieve in this course, such as a thorough comprehension of stadium security in terms of football competition. The aspects in comprehension include planning, organizing, security measures, command, and control.
They also aim to instill a common perception on how to act as well as inform the participants well about the obligations and prohibitions for stadium security personnel in terms of organizing football competitions that meet applicable regulations.
It is also expected that risk assessments in organizing football competitions can be conducted effectively and efficiently, so as to become a reference for issuing licenses to organize football competitions.
"There were 66 course participants, comprising 56 police force personnel and 10 external personnel from relevant agencies, such as the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, Youth and Sports Ministry, Health Ministry, National Football Association, and PT LIB," he elaborated.
The course is hosted as a follow-up to President Joko Widodo's directive for better national football that meets standards set by FIFA.
