"Me, Foreign Affairs Minister and Law and Human Rights Minister (who have been assigned the task)," Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD stated when asked about the plan to gather the victims of serious human rights violations in East Europe.
Mahfud MD made the statement while conversing with the press after attending a closed-door meeting with the President at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
He said the victims will be gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, or Russia.
The minister emphasized that the victims have rights as Indonesian citizens.
"Minister of Law and Human Rights, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and I have been assigned to this task, so the messages will be the same abroad, and this team will take this matter seriously," Mahfud noted.
Mahfud said the president will directly meet with the victims or their families living in Indonesia, such as in Aceh, Papua, and Lampung. The head of state will give compensation to all victims of serious human rights violations.
"Not only to victims of G30S (30th of September Movement), but we also give compensation to other victims," he stated.
