Officials must also enhance and optimize the effectiveness of new plans and existing programs in addition to reducing inefficiency, considering the ministry's limited budget, the minister remarked.
"Let us focus on our national development target. Performance-based means that we must ensure (our programs are) integrated, effective, efficient, and consistent. Hence, it will give huge economic and other benefits for the people," Sumadi stated while presiding over the performance agreement and the integrity pact signing ceremony of ministry officials here, Thursday (January 19), as per the official statement.
With the ministry's 2023 budget of Rp33.44 trillion (US$2.14 billion), the minister urged officials to ensure that all programs are implemented with full accountability and priority to good and clean governance.
Sumadi affirmed that the integrity pact is one of the ministry's concrete steps in its commitment to maintaining integrity, professionalism, and clean administration.
"Please read, comprehend, plan, and implement properly because the essence of the integrity pact is not on the signing but in how we implement the pact," Sumadi stated.
On the same occasion, the minister also presented awards to three first-level echelon units with the best score in the Government Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) implementation.
The three awarded working units are the Directorate General of Railways, the Greater Jakarta Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ), and the Transportation Policy Agency (BKT).
Sumadi affirmed that by 2024, the ministry targets to increase the SAKIP score, which is assessed by the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucracy Reform, among the ministry units.
