"There was one case of COVID-19 in Pangkalpinang City today, while six other regencies had none," Secretary of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force of Babel Islands Province Mikron Antariksa stated in Pangkalpinang, Monday.
Antariksa said six regencies with no additional COVID-19 cases are West Bangka, Central Bangka, West Bangka, South Bangka, Belitung, and East Belitung, while Pangkalpinang City has an additional case of a person exposed to the corona virus.
"Currently, there are no patients recovering or dying from COVID-19," he remarked.
He stated that the number of active COVID-19 patients, who were still in isolation reached nine, comprising three people in Pangkalpinang City, two each in Bangka and Central Bangka, and one COVID-19 patient each in Belitung and South Bangka.
"At the beginning of this year, (the number of) COVID-19 cases has been decreasing, and this will continue to be suppressed until zero cases through appeal to the public to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocol and booster vaccination," Antariksa remarked.
Governor of Babel Islands Ridwan Djamaluddin said that although community activities restrictions (PPKM) had been revoked, the public was urged to continue to implement health protocols.
"Keep maintaining health protocols because it has become a part of the people's daily life to always be aware of this corona virus. Do not let there be another high spike in cases because you do not implement the health protocols," Djamaluddin emphasized.
