Start-ups play a role in creating jobs, increasing welfare, and contributing to a sustainable economy through the solutions and innovations they offer
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Start-up-based companies are part of Indonesia's digital ecosystem that had contributed to accelerating national economic growth, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

The government also focuses on creating productive entrepreneurs through the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 2 of 2022 on National Entrepreneurship Development.

This implementation is expected to produce 500 new start-ups by 2024.

Meanwhile, in 2020, global export services carried out digitally had reached 64 percent and proven to survive during a pandemic.

Digital transformation has also pushed the digital economy to appear as a new economic power in Southeast Asia where the value of digital economy in Southeast Asia has reached US$174 billion in 2021.

This value is projected to increase to US$1 trillion by 2030.

Hartarto also advised members of the young generation, as digital natives, to boost digital literacy and master digital skills, so that they become digital talents that can participate in the digital transformation process in the country.

"Facing the challenges ahead, millennials and generation Z are required to have characteristics that are highly adaptable, flexible, creative, technology savvy, empathetic, and be able to think critically," Hartarto stated.

"This is the main capital to face the dynamic era of digitalization," Hartarto added.
