Hence, the land markers installed by approval from owners of neighbouring land plots will diminish land boundary dispute casesJakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency initiated a national popular movement to install one million land markers to promote awareness of the importance of marking the boundary of land plot.
The ministry's Public Relations Bureau Head, Yulia Jaya Nirmawati, explained that the one million land markers will be installed simultaneously nationwide under the People's Movement to Install Land Markers (GEMAPATAS) Program on Friday (February 3).
"The installation of land plot markers is a prerequisite for residents before registering their land plot to help land surveyors measure their land. Moreover, it will facilitate asset security and assure the certainty of the land plot's border," Nirmawati noted in a statement here, Thursday.
The land markers will be installed with the approval of owners of neighbouring land plots, she remarked, adding that it will help them in demarcating the land area.
"Hence, the land markers installed by approval from owners of neighbouring land plots will diminish land boundary dispute cases," the bureau head noted.
The simultaneous installation of land markers will be initiated by Minister Hadi Tjahjanto at a site in Cilacap District, Central Java, along with the local land owners, she remarked.
"Besides Cilacap, the minister would observe, by virtual means, the simultaneous land markers' installation activities nationwide," Nirmawati stated.
The official noted that installation activities for land markers would also take place in the outermost regions bordering neighboring countries in Aceh, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, and Papua provinces.
The simultaneous one million land markers installation program would be recorded in the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) as a mark of appreciation for the ministry-initiated program, she stated.
"The main purpose of this activity is to raise the people's awareness to install and maintain their land markers. It is a bonus if we could qualify all requisites needed to record the program in MURI," Nirmawati remarked.
She expounded that the standard land markers could be made of concrete, metal, or pipe, with a minimum length of 50 centimetres and a minimum diameter of five centimetres. The land markers must be planted 30 centimeters deep, while rest of the 20 centimeters will be the above ground marker, she explained.
