"We will consistently work together. We ask all provincial Baznas to take part and help ease the burden on Turkey and Syria people," Bazanas head Noor Achmad said at a press conference, which was accessed from here on Wednesday.
He is aiming to raise Rp10 billion (around US$662 thousand) in aid, which would be used to procure basic necessities for the victims.
Currently, the agency has formed a team comprising medical and disaster mitigation personnel, who will be dispatched to Turkey. They will take Rp1 billion (around US$66,214) in aid to meet the needs of victims.
The agency will also cooperate with students in Turkey to assist in the aid distribution process and other things.
"We truly expect that this team will learn exactly what the people there want. At the same time, see the actual situation there, conduct an assessment of needs," he informed.
The central Baznas will also form a special team to collect zakat, infaq, and charity, such as during Ramadhan and on Baznas' anniversary.
"After the advance team has worked, we will create an even bigger special team consisting of a distribution team; so there is a collection team and there is a distribution team," Achmad said.
