We are committed to making all events hosted by NTB successful with reliable electricity.
Mataram, NTB (ANTARA) - State-run electricity provider PT PLN’s West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Main Unit has deployed electrical equipment to support the implementation of the World Superbike (WSBK) event this year.

The racing event will be held on March 4 and 5 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Central Lombok District, NTB Province.

"Currently, PLN is striving to prepare for (the implementation of) WSBK 2023. Several equipment, such as mobile generators, transformers, and supporting installation tools, have been brought to the Mandalika Circuit,” General Manager of PT PLN’s NTB Regional Main Unit Sudjarwo informed here on Tuesday.

His party has permanently installed the electricity installations to allow for faster preparations.

The state-owned corporation has again prepared a zero-downtime scheme to prevent disruptions as well as to maintain the reliability and quality of electricity at the circuit during the implementation of the 2023 WSBK, he said.

PT PLN will provide electricity for nine venues of the 2023 WSBK, namely the main festival area, Nusantara Festival area, Lombok Sumbawa Festival area, paddock area, main pit building, race control facility, medical center, observation deck, and VIP village area.

According to Sudjarwo, electricity demand at the circuit during the racing event is estimated to reach 5.19 mega volt-amperes (MVA), which will be supplied from the two nearest substations.

Currently, the electricity system on Lombok Island generates a total power of 378 megawatts (MW) of power, with the peak load recorded at 296 MW, hence, there is a power reserve of 82 MW, he said.

"We are committed to making all events hosted by NTB successful with reliable electricity. We also ask for prayers and support from the community so that PLN can provide quality services," he added.

PT PLN’s NTB Regional Main Unit has continued to coordinate with state-run Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), the organizer of the WSBK.

President Director of the MGPA Priandhi Satria lauded PLN’s services during the previous WSBK edition from November 11–13, 2022, and said he expected that the state-run electricity provider will provide better services this year.
