Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned food holding company ID FOOD is set to distribute 237,575 tons of sugar and 100 thousand tons of beef throughout this year, according to the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry.

"This task is carried out to meet domestic demand throughout 2023, including the preparations for Ramadhan," SOEs Special Staff III Arya Sinulingga noted in a press conference here, Friday.

Earlier, it was decided that ID FOOD and the government would maintain the availability of strategic food stocks ahead of this year's holy fasting month of Ramadhan.

President Director of PT RNI (Persero)/ID FOOD Frans Marganda Tambunan stated that the company is tasked by the government to distribute beef, sugar, rice, and other commodities to ensure all regions receive them.

The company is also requested to ensure that the pricing of these commodities aligned with the government's regulations.

Moreover, to keep the prices stable with sufficient stocks, the government has also tasked ID FOOD with conducting beef imports as an alternative option to meet the people's demand in addition to local fresh beef.

In addition, ID FOOD synergizes with stakeholders to conduct survey in markets to ensure stock availability and food price affordability.

ID FOOD is a corporate brand name from diversified food manufacturer PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero).

ID FOOD conducts business activities in the field of agriculture and agroindustry, farming and fishery, and trade and logistics.

ID FOOD comprises five former SOEs: PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia, PT Sang Hyang Seri, PT Perikanan Indonesia, PT Berdikari, and PT Garam.

It also involves 11 existing subsidiary companies, including PT PG Rajawali I, PT PG Rajawali II, PT PG Candi Baru, PT Perkebunan Mitra Ogan, PT Laras Astra Kartika, PT Mitra Kerinci, and PT Rajawali Nusindo.
