C Lombok, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The government of Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara, has formed a special task force for tourist accommodations ahead of the World Superbike (WSBK) racing event this year to improve tourism services in the region.

"This is a form of support from the regional government for the improvement of services and tourist visits to Central Lombok," Head of the Central Lombok Tourism Office Lendek Jayadi said here on Friday.

According to him, the task force has been formed to handle complaints from tourists if the services they receive do not meet their expectations.

"This is one of the efforts to improve services to the community," he said.

During the 2022 WSBK edition, tourists had complained that when they tried to check into the hotel rooms they had booked, they found the rooms had been allotted to other people, he informed.

Jayadi said that the complaint service is expected to offer solutions to tourists facing accommodation-related issues during the WSBK implementation.

"The reason for the formation (of the task force) is to maintain our tourism image well," he added.

The regional government has also prepared a district head regulation to strengthen the task force, whose members have been drawn from the Public Order Security Agency (Satpol PP), tourism players, and relevant government offices.

"We want the task force to work effectively and provide security and comfort to tourists," he said.

WSBK 2023 will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Central Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara, from March 3–5.

Earlier on February 7, head of the West Nusa Tenggara Tourism Office, Jamaluddin Maladi, said that the West Nusa Tenggara government is targeting to attract a total of 100 thousand spectators for the WSBK.
