Certainly, supervision will be conducted directly, and we will keep deploying the THR Payment Monitoring Task Force.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah affirmed that her side will ensure that no company will be late in paying the Eid al-Fitr allowance (THR), as the holy day is expected to fall on April 22.
"Yes, there have been provisions about it (the THR payment). Certainly, supervision will be conducted directly, and we will keep deploying the THR Payment Monitoring Task Force," Fauziyah stated at the Presidential Palace Complex here on Monday.
The minister said she would sign a circular letter on March 28, 2023, regarding THR payment for Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri and would immediately announce it to the public.
However, Fauziyah chose to not furnish details on the provisions for THR payments, included in the circular.
Fauziyah said that her side would provide information on all provisions regarding THR payments on March 28, 2023.
The minister noted that all business entities are required to pay THR seven days prior to Eid al-Fitr at the latest.
Earlier, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi appealed to all companies to provide THR to their employees no later than April 18, 2023.
He made the statement based on the change in the 2023 Eid al-Fitr collective leave days.
Earlier, the government had scheduled the collective leave days from April 21 to April 26.
However, Sumadi said that the government would shift the joint leave days to April 19-25 to allow people to conduct the homecoming earlier to avoid traffic jams.
Hence, by ensuring that the THR has been disbursed on April 18, the employees can commence the homecoming on the evening of April 18 after leaving from work, he stated.
Meanwhile, according to the Regulation of the Manpower Minister Number 6 of 2016 concerning Religious Holiday Allowances for Employees in Companies, business entities are required to pay THR no later than seven days before the religious holiday.
Thus, considering that Eid Al-Fitri 1444 Hijri will fall on April 22, THR should be paid on April 15, 2023.
The regulation also stipulates that companies failing to pay the allowance promptly will be fined as much as five percent of the total amount of the THR.
