"Previously, we had conducted an assessment that showed the environment was quite supportive," she said in a press release received here Sunday.
She noted that her ministry provided the victim with basic need assistance, such as staple food packages, cleaning supplies, additional nutrition, and school supplies.
In addition, the ministry also disbursed entrepreneurship assistance in the form of a culinary booth for the victim's older brother, Rismaharini added.
"The village head, district head, and medical staff also supported us. We hope that this support will also strengthen the victim's brother and the mother when she returns from abroad," she said.
The perpetrator who is also the victim's father, YK (44), raped his kid several times and resulting in a pregnancy. The crime was committed when the perpetrator's wife or the victim's mother works as an Indonesian Migrant Worker (PMI) in foreign country.
In response to this incident, the ministry sent social workers and psychologists to help the victim. The ministry also facilitates psychiatric and obstetrician services, and covers the victim's delivery costs.
Rismaharini also hoped that there would be no bullying to the victim.
"I hope all of us can support the victim to continue her life," she remarked.
Meanwhile, Blitar District Head Rini Syarifah welcomed the cooperation of the Ministry of Social Affairs to empower women in the region.
With the cooperation, Syarifah hopes that mothers do not have to leave their children at home to become migrant workers as Blitar is the second-largest contributor to the largest number of migrant workers.
"We hope that by reducing the number of migrant workers, we can empower them here," she stated.
She also thanked all officers of the Ministry of Social Affairs for their support for victim in the recovery process.
