The Communication and Information Ministry will launch ASEANPedia in the near future, which contains various information about ASEAN.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry is preparing an electronic information booklet called ASEANPedia to help the public learn more about ASEAN and Indonesia’s chairmanship of the regional grouping.

"The Communication and Informatics Ministry will launch ASEANPedia in the near future, which contains various information about ASEAN," Director General of Public Information and Communication at the ministry Usman Kansong told ANTARA on Thursday.

He said that ASEANPedia will be published in two languages, Indonesian and English, so that it can provide information to both Indonesians and foreigners.

"There will be a special (website) link for ASEANPedia later," he informed.

Currently, his ministry is also managing the official website asean2023.id, which is serving as one of the sources of information regarding the implementation of Indonesia’s 2023 ASEAN chairmanship from January 1 to December 31.

The Communication and Informatics Ministry has posted several articles, photographs, infographics, and videos of ASEAN activities on the page.

In addition, the ministry is striving to increase the coverage of events organized under Indonesia’s ASEAN chairmanship on mass and social media through public communication.

The ministry is also managing online registrations on the asean2023.id website for journalists wishing to cover the ASEAN Summit.

There will be no offline registration for reporters. It has been estimated that around 300–500 mediapersons will cover the summit, which will be held twice in 2023.

The first summit will take place in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, on May 9–11, while the second summit is scheduled to be implemented in Jakarta on September 4–7.

As per information posted on the asean2023.id website, Indonesia, during its chairmanship of ASEAN, is focusing on strengthening ASEAN as a fast-growing, inclusive, and sustainable economic region, under the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth.”

It is raising three priority economic issues: rebuilding regional growth, connectivity, and new competitiveness; accelerating inclusive digital economy transformation and participation; and promoting sustainable economic growth for building a resilient future.
