"Construction of the Cirebon Power Unit II power plant has reached 99.8 percent," Vice President Director of Cirebon Power Joseph Pangalila noted via a written message received in Cirebon on Wednesday.
He is optimistic that subsequent important stages, including performance tests and operational trials, of Unit II would be completed, so as to expedite the process for it to become commercially operational.
According to Pangalila, despite it still being in its trial period, PLTU Cirebon Power Unit II is able to produce 581 thousand MWh (Megawatt hour), and it is distributed to the Java-Madura-Bali network.
"Although it has not yet started commercial operations, it has produced 581 thousand MWh (Megawatt hour)," he stated.
Pangalila said the PLTU Cirebon Power, both Unit I and Unit II, had been proven to reduce emissions through the use of environment-friendly supercritical boiler and ultra-supercritical technology.
Pangalila stated that this technological advantage is also a form of the company's commitment to keeping the emission of the power plant below the required threshold.
"Currently, we receive a surplus of technical approval for the emission limit for business actors (PTBAE-PU) which means the emission level is below the limit given by the government. We will continue to maintain this for us to use in the future," he stated.
He affirmed that with ultra-super critical technology, the Cirebon Power unit II generator is able to increase the efficiency of using coal, so that the resulting emissions are lower.
