Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Hannover Messe 2023 industrial technology exhibition is a chance for the Indonesian manufacturing industry to brand itself on the international stage, Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno has said.

"Indonesia's participation as the official partner country (Indonesia Partner Country-IPC) aligns with the strategic initiative of 'Making Indonesia 4.0' to answer the 4th industrial revolution challenges," he remarked in Hannover, Germany, Wednesday local time.

At the event's kick-off press conference there, he said that Indonesia's participation will support inclusive sustainability, startups, technology development, and the circular economy.

According to the Industry Ministry's data, Indonesia's manufacturing sector is thriving, with the industrial sector remaining the largest contributor to the gross domestic product (GDP), with its GDP share reaching 16.48 percent in 2022.

The industrial sector also contributed a significant 28.7 percent to the national tax revenue.

In addition, the Industrial Confidence Index (IKI) in March 2023 was expansionary with a value of 51.87.

With the country's industry sector improving post-pandemic, Indonesia has secured a golden opportunity as the first ASEAN country to become a partner for the third time at the Hannover Messe, which will be held from April 17–21, 2023, in Germany.

At the event, Indonesia will showcase some 4.0 technologies and opportunities for industrial sector investment for 157 co-exhibitors.

Indonesia will also set up the Indonesia Pavilion at the Hannover Messe Fairground, which will hold a series of activities.

The Indonesia Pavilion will cover an area of three thousand square meters, where business summits, Indonesia Country Night, and other industry-themed conferences will be held.

The Indonesian government has carried out promotional activities, both at home and abroad, to popularize its participation at Hannover Messe.

These promotional activities are aimed at supporting the four main targets of Indonesia's participation this year, which include introducing Indonesia's vision on the "Making Indonesia 4.0" road map, promoting industrial cooperation, promoting investment and exports, and enhancing bilateral relations with Germany and entering the global supply chain.
