Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of Daop 1 Jakarta's Public Relations Eva Chairunisa advised homecomers, who will travel aboard long-distance trains, to use the digital service KAI Access from the state-run railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

Chairunisa stated here, Thursday, that the various features within the KAI Access application are expected to facilitate service and reduce crowding at the station.

This is because users that order a ticket through the KAI Access application no longer have to print their boarding pass.

"If we purchase it using KAI access, then we no longer need to print the ticket because e-boarding already exists within the application, which is more convenient than having to print," she explained.

"Thus, we suggest long-distance train service users to use KAI Access that is complemented with other features, such as announcement on travel changes or cancellation that has an easier and faster process," she elaborated.

Based on today's monitoring, self-ticket printing machine points, located near the station's departure gate, appeared to be crowded with homecomers.

While PT Kai had increased the number of self-ticket printing machines, Chairunisa stated that several passengers had yet to get accustomed to operating the machines.

"Those who use the ticket printing machine during the homecoming period are not regular users. They use them during the holiday period only," she explained.

"Thus, there are still many of them, who do not understand how to print ticket on their own," she pointed out.

Thus, alongside increasing the number of machines, KAI has also stepped up the number of mobile customer service personnel to help passengers, she noted.

The machine has easy-to-use features, and there are explanations on what needs to be done, she stated.

However, for the sake of comfort, KAI has increased the number of mobile customer service personnel to help passengers operate them, proactively provide information, and control passengers' flow at the station, she remarked.
