Gorontalo (ANTARA) - Gorontalo Governor Hamka Hendra Noer on Saturday urged civil servants (ASN) to apply the great values of Ramadan in their daily tasks.

"I hope that all ASN will apply the values embodied by Ramadan in daily life, including in the work environment. We should maintain the good deeds we have done during the holy month of Ramadan," he said in Gorontalo.

The governor performed the Eid al-Fitr prayers with provincial government officials on Taruna Remaja Field, Gorontalo city, on Saturday.

"Ramadan has taught us many things, such as discipline, togetherness, and kinship that should serve as stimuli to fellow ASN to improve the government's performance and its service to the public," he said.

He also appealed to everyone to treat Eid as a chance to forgive each other.

He said he believes that the first of Shawwal would be a turning point and a reminder for people to increase their relationship with God as well as among fellow human beings, both between fellow Muslims and other religious believers.

"God willing, all our good deeds during Ramadan will be accepted by Allah SWT. Forgive me body and soul, May Allah accept (good deeds) from you and us," he remarked.

Noer, who is also serving as an expert staff to the Youth and Sports Minister, performed the Eid al-Fitr prayers in Gorontalo with his wife Gamaria Purnamawati Monoarfa and their children. This was the first time he performed the prayers since his appointment as acting governor in May 2022.

Acting regional secretary of Gorontalo province Syukri Botutihe Regional Leadership Communication Forum representatives, and a number of Regional Governmental Apparatus Organizations leaders also attended the prayers.
