These beach tourism destinations include Pangandaran, Batukaras, and Madasari as well as beaches in South Garut, such as Santolo, Sayang Heulang, Rancabuaya, and Plentong Indramayu.
JQR operational coordinator, Muhammad Irvan Hilmy, stated on Wednesday that JQR conducted tourism monitoring in collaboration with Balawisata Pangandaran, Polairud, and other Search and Rescue institutions.
"The goal is to ensure the safety of tourists, who are on vacation with their families," he stated.
"This inspection is also done to provide safety and comfort to West Java residents, who are on vacation, so that unwanted incidents do not occur and to minimize accidents, especially in water-related tourism destinations," he remarked.
JQR also provides logistical assistance to coast guards on duty and also conducts inspections at several other tourism destinations, such as Situ Bagendit in Garut.
Monitoring is also undertaken in several mountain tourism destinations, such as Mount Guntur, Mount Sagara, and Mount Cikuray, where residents spent their Eid holiday to scale these mountains.
Hilmy noted that monitoring will also be conducted in a more structured manner and involve more personnel in all tourist attraction areas in West Java.
One of the rescue officers at Pangandaran's Coast Guard Liano said that they managed to curb the number of fatal accidents at Pangandaran Beach from the day before Eid until three days after Eid.
Liano said that the coast guard works from morning until evening and always reminds visitors to comply with the regulations set by their side.
