ASN's public services must be better, optimal, and have a direct impact on society.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister (Menpan-RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas has ordered state civil servants (ASN), especially those in his ministry, to focus on serving the community after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

"ASN must immediately focus on serving the community after this national holiday and joint leave," he said in a press release received here on Wednesday.

The Eid celebration should become a momentum for ASN to improve their performance to provide optimal public services and have a direct impact on society, he added.

"ASN's public services must be better, optimal, and have a direct impact on society," Anas added.

This was conveyed by the minister while chairing the first meeting of the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry after the Eid holiday at the ministry’s office in Jakarta on Wednesday.

At the meeting, he discussed a number of strategic issues, including the preparation of regulations related to the functional positions of lecturers. He informed that his ministry will gather inputs on the structuring of lecturers' functional positions from the representatives of professors, lecturers, and universities.

"We will discuss and gather inputs from the representatives of professors, lecturers, and universities as follow-up rules for structuring the functional positions of lecturers, which have specific arrangements because they are ordered by law," he stated.

In addition, he also discussed efforts to accelerate the implementation of public service malls (MPP) in various regions.

"In May 2023, there will be an addition of at least 13 MPPs, an increase from the current 155 MPPs in districts/cities. This year, there will be a total of 127 new MPPs throughout Indonesia, with most of them located outside Java Island," Anas informed.

He also reminded his staff to monitor the development of the digital MPP.

According to him, the digital MPP is aimed at integrating data in the population database so that in the future, residents will no longer need to fill in data repeatedly while applying for government services.

“Hopefully, it can help accelerate public services in various regions. We are also grateful for district/city governments throughout Indonesia who continue to work to improve services for the community," he added.
