The quality of public services is becoming more evenly distributed. It is Indonesia-centric. This means that we do not only see good services in Java but also in many regions outside Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform inaugurated 10 new public service malls (MPPs) that were built to integrate public services in districts and cities into one location.

"Integrating services is an important concern for us," Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas stated here on Tuesday.

With the presence of the 10 new MPPs, there are 163 MPPs currently spread across various regions in Indonesia.

The 10 MPPs are located in Central Aceh in Aceh, West Tulang Bawang in Lampung, Lebak in Banten, Buleleng in Bali, Sekadau in West Kalimantan, Palangka Raya in Central Kalimantan, Kupang in East Nusa Tenggara, East Manggarai in East Nusa Tenggara, Morowali in Central Sulawesi, and Bone in South Sulawesi.

According to Anas, MPPs are currently more evenly distributed in districts and cities in Indonesia. Thus, they are not solely found in Java Island.

"Now, it is 50 percent in Java and 50 percent outside Java. The quality of public services is becoming more evenly distributed. It is Indonesia-centric. This means that we do not only see good services in Java but also in many regions outside Java," he explained.

He also reminded regional heads to prioritize the quality and integration of services instead of prioritizing the physical condition of the building.

"(We) do not have to build a (new) building, so it is more economical. In regions, there are many assets that have not been used, so (we can) just use them," he remarked.

The minister further noted that his ministry has continued to conduct the transformation of regulation, so that MPPs do not have to be set up in new buildings and do not have a building area size requirement.

While implementing the MPP program, the Ministry also carries out service integration in a virtual form, namely Digital MPP.

"We are carrying it out in stages. Now, we have 21 districts and cities that have become the pilot project for the Digital Public Service Mall with a facial recognition basis," Anas remarked.
