"I expect that with this Public Service Mall (inauguration), public services will be even better and this is proof that regional chiefs are committed to providing fast, transparent, and more measured services," he said after the inauguration event here.
The 14 Public Service Malls have been established in Aceh Besar District, Humbang Hasundutan District (North Sumatra), Musi Rawas District (South Sumatra), Tangerang City (Banten), and West Bandung District (West Java).
Then, Cirebon District, Pangandaran District (West Java), Tegal District (Central Java), Kubu Raya District (West Kalimantan), Pangkajene and Islands District, Wajo District and Soppeng District (South Sulawesi), as well as Poso District and Konawe District (Southeast Sulawesi).
With the inauguration of the 14 Public Service Malls, the total number of Public Service Malls has reached 134, catering to 23 percent of all districts/cities in Indonesia.
The government has continued to monitor Public Service Malls. At the inauguration on Thursday, Anas urged them to develop in a better direction.
The government aims to set up Public Service Malls in all regions of Indonesia. This is meant to improve people's satisfaction with public service and encourage investment growth.
The minister said he expects proper planning in developing the Public Service Malls. Regions that have limited budgets do not need to construct a large building.
The establishment of Public Service Malls aligns with the instructions given by President Joko Widodo on bureaucratic reform, which include the creation of an impactful and fast bureaucracy.
"In accordance with the President's instruction, in the future, these services must be unified," Anas said.
"Services unified in a physical form is called Public Service Mall (MPP); services unified in a virtual setting is called digital MPP. This will gradually lead toward digital MPP," he added.
