In a statement released in Jakarta on Thursday, he said that Polri provided security in the third ring while the National Armed Forces (TNI) carried out security in the second and first rings.
"TNI and Polri worked together to secure the summit. Even though there were members of the National Police in rings one and two, they were still under the command of the TNI Commander and the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres)," he informed.
He explained that the 91 Command Center monitored all security personnel's activities at various points, starting from the airport, the accommodation, to the location of the summit activities.
"Through the command center all activities can be monitored and our security personnel can directly interact," he added.
Moreover, the security personnel were equipped with body-worn cameras, handheld walkie-talkies (HT), and other communication tools.
He added that, in general, a number of potential incidents in Labuan Bajo could be handled properly.
He was also informed that traffic management during the event was one of the most complicated tasks since the routes were congested.
"We thank the community for their support even though we changed their route to give priority to heads of state and their delegations to arrive on time," he said.
According to him, all the activities of the 42nd ASEAN Summit series, starting from the arrival of President Joko Widodo and the heads of state with their delegations, went well until Thursday.
"Polri, TNI, and of course, the TNI commander will continue to work hard. Hopefully, the results will be optimal and this summit can bring benefits and strategic decisions, especially in the ASEAN region," he added.
The 42nd ASEAN Summit is held in Labuan Bajo on May 9-11, 2023.
