Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto and two other cabinet members joined a fun walk to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the national strategic project (PSN) in Jakarta on Sunday.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno and Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo were also seen among those joining the fun walk that started from the Istora Senayan Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station, and ended.at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

Hartarto told journalists at the Istora Senayan MRT Station that Jakarta's MRT has convincingly shown the fact that the PSNs have been going well.

The works for the MRT Project stretching from the city's center to the north and from the east to the west are continued, he said.

This four-year old project is currently being expanded to meet the targeted overall passenger capacity of 24 million people, he added.

In addition to the MRT, the Trans-Java Toll Road with the distance totaling 1,167 km as well as a number of dams with the capacity of 2.7 million cubic meters are also observed as the concrete examples of the PSNs.

Hartarto said the completed PSNs served as proof of the government's commitment to providing supports for facilitating the acceleration of infrastructure construction through financing gap and land acquisition.

"These best practices can be found in several places and we are taking notes from the achievements. Currently, we also have several projects of the PSN list that have reached the stage of financial closing. Several other strategic projects will later be carried out (in 2024)," he said.

The PSN's commemorative events will be held from May to October in an effort to raise public awareness and interest, particularly among members of young generation.

The events are also aimed at showing the
the vital role of PSNs in boosting the national economic development and principles of sustainability which will help realize the grand vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

The.events include fun walks, exhibitions, seminars, student writing and photography/videography competitions, visits to schools and colleges, visits to PSNs in several cities, as well as social and environmental activities that involve the society, including young people, business actors, and government officials.

The events will also feature a series of international conferences as well as business and investment forums.
