The names were the results of the People's Forum organized by the group in Jakarta on Sunday.
"Mr. President, the forum proposes three presidential candidates," said Andi Gani Nena Wea, the head of the forum's organizing committee, to Widodo, also known as Jokowi.
The three candidates include Ganjar Pranowo, the Governor of Central Java, who is also the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan).
The other two candidates are Prabowo Subianto, the leader of the Gerindra Party, and Airlangga Hartarto, chairperson of the Golkar Party.
Several names have been proposed as vice presidential candidates, including Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, and Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.
"As Jokowi's volunteers, we will remain loyal to you until the end," Wea stressed.
Budi Arie Setiadi, who was in charge of the event, stated that Jokowi's directives to his volunteers regarding the 2024 general elections were the main agenda of the event.
He said that the three names proposed as presidential candidates were the result of considering the aspirations of the people, including Jokowi's volunteers across the country.
The registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates will start on October 19 and end on November 25, 2023. The general elections will be held on February 14, 2024.
