The priority policy program is closely linked to efforts to maintain the stability and availability of basic commodities in the domestic markets, he said during the "Dissemination of BK Perdag Analysis Results" event, which was followed online from Jakarta on Wednesday.
"This is a matter of how to continue to maintain the security of domestic markets, while keep striving to boost exports to achieve the national target of becoming a developed country by 2045," Kasan said.
The priority policy is expected to contribute greatly to economic growth in Indonesia by advancing not only big business actors, but also small and medium enterprises, he added.
Kasan said he believes that small and medium enterprises have the same opportunities, so it is necessary to provide adequate attention and facilities to them.
"We should push for the empowerment of SMEs (small and medium enterprises)," he stressed.
Furthermore, the agency head said that Indonesia is still experiencing a slowdown in economic growth. Global trades can also have an impact on the national level, especially in the context of import commodities, he added.
"We should pay close attention to the global economy and trade, as Indonesia is not simply a part of the global economy, but the global policies themselves may affect us," he explained.
In addition to global food prices, he continued, Indonesia is facing other challenges, including the European Union's policy regarding deforestation, which is affecting Indonesian exports.
"And not to mention green products; this is an inevitable trend. With that in mind, we all should collaborate with business actors to push for the production of eco-friendly products," he added.
