Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Dwi Sulistyawan, conveyed this when contacted from here on Wednesday (May 17).
"The opening of the integrated exercise was postponed, from morning to noon, at 2 p.m. local time," he remarked.
He explained that the police chief was initially scheduled to fly to Padang on Thursday (May 18) afternoon, but there was a change of schedule.
Sulistyawan said that his side is still awaiting further information regarding the arrival of the police chief and the TNI Commander to Padang City, West Sumatra.
"(The information), so far, is that the police chief and the TNI commander will arrive on Friday and attend the opening of the integrated exercise and then be hosted by the governor at the West Sumatra Gubernatorial Palace," he remarked.
He believed that both the security institution leaders will go back home on the same day.
"We are still waiting for the exact schedule of activities of the police chief in West Sumatra," he noted.
The regional government and people of West Sumatra are ready to welcome the participants of the 43rd Taruna Wreda Nusantara Integrated Exercise, some of whom have departed with the KRI Banda Aceh and KRI Surabaya warships.
"The implementation of the exercise has been prepared well. We are ready to welcome the participants," West Sumatra Regional Secretary Hansastri stated.
The participants will undergo the exercise in five regions: Padang, Pariaman, Solok, Pesisir Selatan, and Pasaman.
"There will be around 1,300 participants from TNI and Police academies, the State Institute of Public Administration (IPDN), and cadets of the State Cyber and Encryption Polytechnic," he remarked.
