In his remarks, VP Amin stated that the meeting was held as a hearing session for evaluating reports and the progress in the implementation of assignments for ministries and agencies in accordance with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 4 of 2022 concerning PPKE.
"In line with Mr. President's directives, the government has set the target for total PPKE eradication in Indonesia by 2024. The target constitutes a challenge, considering the alleviation of extreme poverty is the end result of the whole vast national development processes," Amin remarked.
Currently, VP Amin concurrently serves as head of the National Poverty Eradication Acceleration Team (TNP2K) as well as executive coordinator for Inpres No. 4 of 2022.
"I have received reports, stating that the World Bank, in its Poverty Assessment released in early May this year, mentioned that Indonesia is on track to eradicate extreme poverty," he remarked.
The vice president said the World Bank's assessment on Indonesia was based on the extreme poverty rate recorded in Indonesia as of March 2022 at 1.5 percent. However, he admitted that the data was different from that provided by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in March 2022, in which it was recorded at 2.04 percent.

In an earlier meeting, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendy had presented reports on the development of Targeting Data for the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication (P3KE) to ensure the accuracy of the aid received by the targeted population.
The P3KE contains information on data in the format of "by name, by address, by NIK (Indonesian citizens' identity card numbers)" and data on socio-economic characteristics of relatively newly established families as well as the ranking of family welfare.
The VP emphasized that the P3KE should be utilized according to the president's directives, specifically, to serve as a tool for sharpening the existing targeted data and boosting accuracy of program targeting, with special focus on reaching families in the extreme poverty category that have yet to benefit from the program.
"In this meeting, I ask all of you, both from ministries and agencies and regional governments, to provide reports and evaluation on the use of the P3KE data," VP Amin pointed out.
Several ministers in attendance comprised Minister Muhadjir Effendy, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziah, Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Minister Abdul Halim Iskandar, and National Development Planning Minister Suharso Monoarfa.
