Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government will participate in the 111th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) from June 5–16, 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The ILC is an annual conference that establishes and adopts international labour standards and is a forum for discussing key social and labour questions.

At the 111th ILC Session, five major committees will discuss issues related to manpower, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said here on Thursday.

The first of these committees is the Committee on the Application of Standards, which will discuss reports concerning the implementation of conventions ratified during the 2022 reporting period.

The second is the Standard Setting Committee, which will discuss the formulation of the International Labour Organization's (ILO's) manpower standards on internships. The third is the Recurrent Discussion Committee, which will discuss social protection.

The fourth is the General Discussion Committee, which will talk about the just transition, including eco-friendly industrial technologies and policies.

The fifth is the General Affairs Committee, which will discuss convention suggestions and revision recommendations for some of the 15 International Labour Instruments that are safe and healthy, in accordance with the ILO's principles and basic workplace rights.

"The five committees had considered a series of topics established by the Governing Body," the minister said at the 111th ILC Preparation Meeting.

She pointed out that there will be several important considerations within the execution of the ILC session, namely the women’s participation rate in delegations.

She said she expects women's participation to be equal to men’s in all delegations, whether from the government, private sector, or trade unions.

"I expect that for next year's ILC meeting, delegations, in their suggestions, provide opportunities for women," Fauziyah added.
