Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas has urged civil servants (ASNs) to commemorate Pancasila Day by implementing thematic bureaucratic reforms that will bring about a significant impact on society.

"In line with our tagline, 'Moving Together for Impactful Bureaucratic Reform,' and in accordance with the theme of Pancasila Day, 'Cooperation in Building Global Civilization and Growth,' I invite all civil servants to create a bureaucracy that truly makes a difference in society," he stated on Thursday.

The minister emphasized that bureaucratic reform efforts should address key development issues such as poverty reduction, investment, domestic product spending in state and regional budgets, and inflation control.

He advised civil servants to expedite their efforts in bureaucratic reform.

"To achieve an impactful bureaucracy that addresses the main development issues, we need thematic bureaucratic reforms as directed by President Joko Widodo," he said.

Anas highlighted the importance of prioritizing poverty alleviation.

He explained that addressing poverty through the role of the bureaucracy is directly linked to the fifth principle of Pancasila, which is "Social justice for all Indonesian people."

According to him, Point 11 of the fifth principle mandates activities that aim to achieve equitable development and social justice. Therefore, the government has a responsibility to formulate policies and programs that promote equitable economic growth from a bureaucratic perspective.

Anas urged civil servants not only to understand Pancasila but also to apply its values in their daily lives, both in their work and in society.

"Understanding Pancasila must be accompanied by tangible actions that align with the noble values enshrined in its principles," Anas emphasized.

He stressed the importance of civil servants embracing Pancasila values in all aspects, including governance, society, and the context of strengthening bureaucratic reform.
