Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hajj Health Office (KKHI) in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, has prepared six referral hospitals to improve health facilities and serve Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in 2023.

"KKHI in Mecca has visited several Saudi Arabian hospitals with the purpose of establishing friendship and cooperation in health services for Hajj pilgrims," KKHI's Mecca work area head, Andi Ardjuna Sakti, said here on Friday.

The second batch of Hajj pilgrims is scheduled to depart for Mecca from June 8–22, 2023, he informed.

Therefore, he said, his office has prepared health services not only in terms of facilities and human resources, but also in the form of good coordination and cooperation with health entities and also the Saudi Arabian authorities.

To build good coordination, Sakti and his staff visited six Saudi Arabian hospitals to establish cooperation to support services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.

The six Saudi Arabian hospitals in Mecca that have been assigned as referral hospitals for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are Al Noor Hospital, King Faisal Hospital, King Abdul Aziz Hospital, King Abdullah Hospital, Heera Hospital, and Wiladah Hospital.

The KKHI team in Mecca met with the leaders of the hospitals and all of them expressed their readiness to help, especially in providing healthcare to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.

The team was also invited to see the facilities available at the hospitals, including the heart and vessel disease treatment facility at King Abdullah Hospital, which is known to be the largest cardiology hospital in Mecca.

"We hope that with the friendship and visit to the Saudi Arabian hospitals, the pilgrims can be served well," Sakti said.

Head of KKHI-Mecca, Edi Supriyatna, said that the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health has also expressed its commitment to assisting his side in providing services to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
