Head of BRIN Laksana Tri Handoko is optimistic that the assets would benefit the state civil apparatus at the Directorate General for Development of Disadvantage Regions and Transmigration.
"Hopefully, the BMN assets can be developed and can get better," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
The assets handed over include land, buildings, and structures along with irrigation roads and networks, equipment and machinery, and other fixed assets attached to the Pekayon BRIN office building in East Jakarta.
Earlier, the asset provided was an office facility for the Remote Sensing Research Center (PRPJ) of BRIN.
Based on the contents signed by the BRIN and Kemendes PDTT, the handover of assets falls in the status of temporary use for a period of five months.
The provision of temporary assets is intended to facilitate the mobilization of goods and people from Kemendes PDTT to be able to immediately occupy the former PRPJ BRIN's office building.
Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar expressed gratitude to BRIN for handing over the assets.
"These assets will later be occupied by around 450 ASN of the Directorate General of PDTT that previously had offices on Jalan Abdul Muis, Central Jakarta," Iskandar said, referring to 450 civil servants.
"We will make the best use of it, and we will immediately follow up with a memorandum of understanding and a joint work agreement to then make arrangements. We will be responsible for maintaining BMN assets during this temporary use period," he affirmed.
The signing for the handing over of the assets was held at the Indriya Bhuwana Building BRIN Pekayon, East Jakarta, on Monday (June 5).
The handover process was carried out directly by the Head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, to Minister Iskandar.
