Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas, on Monday, briefed President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on the progress in preparations for the civil state apparatuses' upcoming relocation to the new capital Nusantara City.

During the press conference after the meeting at the Presidential Palace here, the minister said a comprehensive simulation on the allocation of places for relocated state apparatuses in the new capital had been developed.

"Regarding human resources in the new capital, we have completed the (relocation) simulation, and yesterday, we visited the new capital site to monitor the preparation of the state apparatuses' relocation," Anas stated.

All government ministries and agencies were involved in the simulation planning and development, the minister affirmed.

He noted that apart from his ministry, officers from the Home Affairs Ministry and Finance Ministry are projected to relocate to Nusantara City in the earliest phase.

"However, it does not mean the ministry as a whole will relocate at once. Some will move, and some will stay, (so the process will be) gradual,” Anas expounded.

The minister noted that his side currently awaits the winner of the project tender to develop 47 accommodation towers for state apparatuses in the new capital.

Meanwhile, the minister admitted to have not yet found a single state employee that objected to being relocated to Nusantara City.

Instead of objection letters, Anas said he had received letters from several state apparatuses, who volunteered themselves to be relocated to the new capital.

"This means that a lot of young digital talents want to enjoy the new atmosphere of digital service, digital-based government system, and comfortable environment (in the new capital)," he stated.

The president earlier decided that 16,990 state apparatuses from 35 government ministries and agencies, the police, and the military would relocate to the new capital. The relocation is expected to commence in 2024.
