Makarim explained that thus far, in achieving the priority program target, his ministry focuses on improving governance as was apparent from its success of having achieved the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) for nine consecutive years.
Governance improvement undertaken by Makarim's ministry is also reflected in the improvement of Bureaucracy Reformation Index, Performance Accountability, and Stakeholders Satisfaction Index.
The 2024 planning and budget focuses on supporting the Government Work Plan (RKP) theme, priority targets, and policy courses and strategies specifically on the third national priority of improving quality and competitive human resources.
“We are also focusing on the fourth national priority, namely mental revolution and culture development,” he remarked.
In addition, the ministry has strengthened various priority programs, such as private and vocational universities' aid, APE procurement for Early Childhood Education, and cultural art gallery assistance.
It also strengthens regional language literacy and short films with regional content, Center of Excellence’s Vocational School, vocational education workforce upskilling and reskilling as well as Work Skills Program and Entrepreneurial Skill Program.
