"The ministry's Inspectorate General was present while adopting the theme of Supervising Social Assistance Beneficiaries by Directly Involving the Public to Ensure the Accuracy of the Assistance," Acting Inspector General of the ministry Dody Sukmono noted in an official statement here on Wednesday.
Sukmono affirmed that through the stand, the ministry was providing the public with information on the ministry's duties, functions, and performance. The ministry was also displaying the Cek Bansos application to provide information to the public on how to use the application, he added.
"The Inspectorate General
needs to introduce the ministry to get closer to the public. Such a measure is essential, as it is closely related to the supervision we are conducting," he stated.
Sukmono deemed it necessary to invite people to participate in the efforts to boost the accuracy of social assistance, including by encouraging them to submit suggestions and objections.
"(The ministry's presence at) the expo was aimed at drawing the society to use the application or submit suggestions to Kemensos regarding social assistance distribution to make it more accurate," he remarked.
Sukmono also drew attention to the fact that it was the first time the ministry had participated in the internal supervision expo.
"For us, this expo is a new thing," Sukmono stated.
The event served as a stage for the ministry to establish networks with inspectorates from other ministries and agencies in addition to boosting the ministry's self-confidence, he remarked.
Sukmono affirmed that his office must partake in the event, considering that the ministry's main tasks and functions are closely related to the national priority programs.
"The supervision of Inspectorate General is inseparable from the programs. With that in mind, we should be present to provide the public with information on the programs," he pointed out.
As many as 27 central agencies' inspectorates and 18 regional agencies' inspectorates as well as 11 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) were participating in the expo to showcase their work performance, contribution, and supervision innovation.
In addition, all participants were using the event as a stage for exchanging knowledge in internal supervision as well as establishing collaboration and cooperation between internal supervisory apparatuses (APIPs) and internal supervision units (SPIs).
