Padang (ANTARA) - Law No. 6 of 2023 on Job Creation is aimed at developing an inclusive economy, said Arief Budimanta, Secretary of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Job Creation Law Dissemination, on Tuesday.

"The Job Creation Law also aims to make the country's economy more competitive and sustainable," he said in Padang, West Sumatra.

Budimanta, who also serves as the presidential expert staff on economic affairs, stated that the task force is disseminating information about the Job Creation Law not only to economic actors but also to youth, especially college students.

This step is being taken to provide an understanding of the law to younger generations, who are projected to be a part of Indonesia's demographic bonus, so that they can seize the opportunities ahead, he explained.

The materials of the law being disseminated are expected to raise students' awareness about feasible ways to create a suitable ecosystem for business.

"So, the Job Creation Law is being implemented with the objective of developing an inclusive, competitive, and sustainable economy," Budimanta explained.

One of the goals of the law is to create jobs by encouraging business actors to work in synergy with the government to carry out sustainable economic activities.

Meanwhile, Professor Yuliandri, the rector of Andalas University, outlined two important points regarding the dissemination of the law.

The first concerns efforts to encourage lecturers and students to conduct studies on the law, the substance of which can serve as the foundation for research.

The second concerns efforts to invite the public to consider the provisions encapsulated in the law as guidance.

He then noted that the Job Creation Law has a number of benefits, including providing a set of clear regulations that can be used as the basis for creating new jobs and supporting investment, among others.
