The office of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in Papua expressed readiness to forge cooperation with business actors from Papua New Guinea (PNG), especially those running micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Papua Kadin's Deputy Head of Border Area Development Jacleana Walintina Joku stated in Jayapura on Saturday that her side is ready to take follow-up actions to results of the visit of PNG businessmen to Indonesia earlier on March 31, 2022.
"Therefore, we, along with central Kadin, will meet with PNG entrepreneurs on July 2 on Citilink's inaugural flight from Bali to Port Moresby," she noted.
Joku further elaborated that the meeting will be held as a forum business meeting in PNG that will serve as a crucial platform for both parties to exchange information and explore new business potentials.
"We see an enormous business potential in PNG, and the Pacific region, in general, added to the fact that money circulation in border areas is very fast," she remarked.
She also highlighted that Papua has an array of products to offer to PNG while expressing hope that the central government would provide its best support to Papua Kadin to enable the cooperation to go smoothly.
"We have a wide variety of food products, such as coffee, rice, sago, and others. For that reason, we will provide coaching and training assistance to Papuan MSMEs, so they can collaborate with their counterparts in PNG," she remarked.
Furthermore, Joku remarked that Papua Kadin felt honored, as it is directly involved with other Kadin delegates from regional and central levels in the upcoming big event in PNG.
"The Chairman of Papua Kadin Ronald Antonio is also a pioneer of this activity. We are keen to realize the cooperation in the hopes of stimulating economic growth in Papua. In fact, Papua shares four border areas with PNG.
