Gumilang arrived at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency Building at 1:50 p.m. local time.
He was accompanied by some people who were believed to be from the educational institution.
Upon his arrival, he went to the main lobby of the building, where some investigators were waiting for him.
He did not issue any statement to the media and only greeted them with a wave of the hand and a thumbs up. His arrival was followed by a slight altercation between journalists and Gumilang's followers who blocked reporters from taking photos.
Director of General Crimes of the National Police Force's Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Raharjo, said that Gumilang had confirmed he would meet with the investigators and provide clarification.
"Panji Gumilang who is supposedly summoned today at 10 a.m. local time has confirmed that he is in Jakarta, and possibly around 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. he will attend the call to give clarification," Raharjo informed.
He said that the police called Gumilang to clarify reports on his alleged blasphemous activities.
"The one in question has been summoned to give clarification, (so as to help us) progress with our investigation," he added.
As part of the blasphemy probe, investigators have taken statements from the people who reported the case as well as some witnesses, including accounts from the Religious Affairs Ministry and the National Ulema Council (MUI).
While visiting the police agency's building on a separate occasion, leader of the central board of the Pancasila Defenders Advocacy Forum (FAPP), M. Ikhsan Tanjung, said that he was there to submit more pieces of proof/evidence to investigators.
He informed that there were 10 additional pieces of evidence, which he had handed to investigators that morning.
"We, as the ones who report it, were summoned by investigators from the National Police Force's Criminal Investigation Agency to give additional evidence. I just gave like 10 additional evidences in the form of video recordings; we have given to investigators all of the new evidences," he said.
Currently, the Al Zaytun's case is still being investigated. The investigators will follow up with a preliminary hearing once Gumilang has been questioned.
