"They can still (exercise their right to vote) by showing their Family Card," a member of the General Elections Commission (KPU), Betty Epsilon Idroos, told reporters here on Tuesday.
This is in response to the findings of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) that more than 4 million voters without e-KTP cards are listed in the permanent voter list (DPT) for the 2024 election, Idroos said.
On Monday (July 3), an executive of Bawaslu, Lolly Suhenty, said that the 4,005,275 voters are mostly voters who have not reached the legal age for voting as well as voters who are already aged 17 years, but have not obtained e-KTPs.
These 4 million voters may not be able to vote at polling stations because they do not have e-KTPs, she added.
Article 348, Paragraph (1) of Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections requires registered voters to show their e-KTPs in order to cast their vote, she pointed out.

Therefore, Bawaslu has asked the KPU to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to address the problem.
Meanwhile, Idroos said that KPU included voters who have not yet turned 17 in the DPT list as they will be of that age on February 14, 2024, the election day.
This is based on data on potential voters (DP4) from the Home Affairs Ministry and the results of KPU's field verification, she added.
As of July 2, the DPT list had at least 204,807,222 eligible voters, as determined by the KPU, who included citizens living at home and abroad.
The voters comprised 102,218,503 men and 102,588,719 women.
