Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has expressed its readiness to provide data and research to support the National Food Agency (Bapanas) in mapping out regional food demand.

Head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, stated during a Bapanas program and activity coordination meeting on Tuesday that synergy between ministries and institutions is consistently being built to resolve problems, including BRIN's collaboration with Bapanas.

"Cooperation with Bapanas has already begun, but the formal agreement has just been signed. Therefore, do not hesitate to contact BRIN's BRIDAs (Regional Research and Innovation Agencies) in different regions," he said in Bogor, West Java.

BRIN has established 60 BRIDAs in various regions, along with deputies who collaborate with 82 ministries and institutions, as well as 4 coordinating ministries.

Bapanas can request food research data and findings from BRIN's researchers at the central and regional levels to enhance food supply efforts.

BRIN also has regional innovation research deputies who are connected to 514 cities or districts nationwide, enabling the production of up-to-date data and research in various agricultural fields.

"Feel free to use the data and research from BRIN's researchers, whether you are from Bapanas or related offices," he remarked.

Head of Bapanas, Arif Prasetyo Adi, emphasized that the collaboration with BRIN should be maximized by food deputies and related offices to generate data and innovations that support food security.

"This collaboration has been ongoing. There is already support for food planting in West Java and other areas. I urge the deputies to optimize this," he added.
