Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police will conduct Operation Patuh Jaya 2023 to enforce discipline among road users and increase their compliance with traffic regulations.

The operation will be held for two weeks on July 10-23, 2023, according to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Instagram post on Sunday.

At least 14 driver behaviors will be targeted in this operation, including driving against the flow of traffic, using mobile phones while driving, speeding, and not having a driver's license.

Motorcycle riders who do not wear helmets that meet the Indonesian national standard (SNI) or carry more than one passenger will also be dealt with.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police has not yet specified the number of personnel to be deployed or the number of locations that will be the focus of the operation.

"The information will be announced on July 10th," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko.

During Operation Patuh Jaya 2022, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police took action against 38,738 vehicle drivers at 35 locations over a period of 14 days.
