"I confirm that today, Mr Jokowi visited Dr Sardjito General Hospital to visit Mr Emha Ainun Nadjib," said Banu Hermawan, the head of the hospital's Legal and Public Relations Division.
Accompanied by the Minister of State Secretariat, Pratikno, Jokowi arrived at the hospital at 10 a.m. He met Nadjib's spouse, Novia Kolopaking, and son Sabrang Mowo Damar Panuluh. He spent 15 minutes to see Cak Nun and then left the hospital.
Nadjib, popularly known as Cak Nun, has been receiving intensive care at the hospital's ICU facility since Thursday (July 6) after falling unconscious earlier. He was reportedly suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage.
His personal physician, Eddy Supriyadi, confirmed that Nadjib's health condition has improved. However, he still needs to receive medical care at hospitals.
Nadjib's former personal secretary, Noor Janis Langga Barana, said that although his health condition has become more stable, the hospital still does not allow him to be visited by other parties.
"Cak Nun's recovery process is progressing well. His condition is stable, as well as his consciousness," he said.
Nadjib was still participating in a performance with the "Kiai Kanjeng" traditional art troupe in Yogyakarta as of late Sunday (July 2), he noted.
"Perhaps he was fatigued. His physical condition should be maintained because Cak Nun is now 70. The fatigue might be the cause of the bleeding in his brain, which requires him to be taken to the hospital," he said.
