"Indonesia aspires to be a high-income and advanced country as elucidated in our Golden Indonesia Vision 2045," Hartarto stated at a meeting with Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Mathias Cormann held by virtual means.
According to the written statement received on Tuesday, the coordinating minister stated that contributions from stakeholders in all aspects, such as economy, society, and environment, are necessary to realize an advanced Indonesia.
Hence, as a key partner of OECD since 2007, Indonesia is seeking to optimize its cooperation with the organization.
Hartarto expressed gratitude for OECD's support through studies, reviews, and global policy dissemination, as well as backing Indonesia's efforts to increase its policy and regulatory standard.
The ongoing collaboration between Indonesia and OECD is an implementation of the Framework of Cooperation Agreement (FCA) and Joint Work Program (JWP) drafted to align with Indonesia's interests and strategic priorities, he noted.
"OECD, whose members comprise advanced countries, continues promoting regulatory and policy standards that encourage quality growth of the economy," the coordinating minister stated.
The OECD has also shared knowledge with Indonesia about their member states' experiences in optimizing demographic dividends and other aspects needed to achieve the high-income per capita and advanced country status, Hartarto remarked.
In response to Hartarto, Cormann reiterated his organization's stance that Indonesia is a strategic partner of the OECD.
The OECD is also committed to supporting Indonesia in the framework of FCA and JWP as well as on Indonesia's strategic priorities to achieve the status of advanced country, he stated.
