Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - The Papuan Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (TP-PKK) is expected to contribute to realizing prosperous and resilient families in the region.

"All of this must be done together with the aim of improving the quality and standard of living of families, both from economic, educational, health, and sociocultural aspects," Secretary of the Papua provincial government, Derek Hegemur, said here on Thursday.

The realization of prosperous families can result in better economic conditions in Papua, he added.

According to him, the government cannot work alone to realize the goal of better families in the province, but needs to collaborate with various parties.

There must be collaborative work between the government and the TP-PKK to resolve problems at the family level.

He said that the TP-PKK programs need to align with the provincial government's programs.

"We hope that this coordination meeting with TP-PKK can be followed up with an evaluation and collaboration with related offices to realize prosperous and resilient families," Hegemur said.

Meanwhile, acting head of Papua province's TP-PKK, Sientje Latuputty, said the meeting aimed to synchronize programs from the provincial to village levels, including main programs and programs for cities/districts that will serve as pilot project locations.

"TP-PKK at the district/city level can create programs that are focused on villages, and they need to be reported to the central (TP-PKK) every six months," she informed.

According to her, the coordination meeting was attended by 114 representatives from seven districts and a city in Papua, as well as some representatives from Papua's three autonomous regions, including Central Mamberamo, Lanny Jaya, Asmat, Tolikara, Yalimo, Yahukimo, Merauke, and Mimika.

The two-day coordination meeting was themed "Moving Together Toward Prosperous and Resilient Families" and took place in Jayapura City, Papua.
