"The summit will discuss several issues, including the Code of Conduct regarding the South China Sea, the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANFWZ), and then also the ASEAN Maritime Outlook, ASEAN Outlook in Indo Pacific (AOIP), and issues related to Myanmar," he stated during a press conference titled "Road to ASEAN Summit" in Jakarta, Friday.
The 43rd ASEAN Summit will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Central Jakarta, on September 5-7, 2023, and will be attended by some 26 countries, he remarked.
Apart from ASEAN member countries, other delegates, including Australia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, the United States, Canada, and representatives of the United Nations (UN), will attend the summit, Kansong remarked.
According to Kansong, several side events will be held at the 43rd ASEAN Summit week, including the ASEAN Business Summit organized by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) and also the ASEAN Investment Forum conducted by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
"There will be several other side events along the summit. We will announce it later," he noted.
Moreover, he remarked that on the last day of the summit, a presentation will be conducted of conclusions through a press conference chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"President Jokowi will deliver a press conference on the last day of the summit," he remarked.
