The three priority issues are Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Digital Inclusion and Innovation; Building Safety, Security, Resilience, and Trust in the Digital Economy; and Digital Skilling for Building a Global Future-Ready Workforce.
"Indonesia encourages the use of DPI that is focused domestically, without ruling out the possibility of developing cross-country DPI," Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi stated while discussing support for the first priority issue, as noted in a statement received in Jakarta, Monday.
Indonesia views the flexibility approach in DPI as a step, so that every country can develop each digital public infrastructure according to its respective needs, conditions, and level of economic development.
Furthermore, for the second priority issue regarding security supporting the resilience of the digital economy, Indonesia fully supports it, so that solutions can be obtained.
Setiadi noted that similar issues had also been discussed by Indonesia when it held the G20 Presidency in 2022.
"Indonesia collects (information on) practices from many G20 members regarding digital security that is a key factor in supporting business continuity, especially for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)," he remarked.
In connection with the third issue on the development of digital talent, Indonesia also welcomed India's proposal to draw comparisons between digital talent skills of countries.
This is in accordance with Indonesia's vision of creating and bolstering digital talent to accelerate the process of national digital transformation.
In addition to using a flexible approach, Indonesia is committed to regularly presenting comprehensive digital skills development programs for the community.
"All digital HR preparation programs are carried out in collaboration with various stakeholders from academics, industry players, civil society organizations, and related government agencies," Setiadi highlighted.
At the DEMM of the DEWG of India's G20 Presidency, seven ministers from G20 countries and five ministers of invited countries were present apart from representatives from Indonesia.
The delegates discussed and made suggestions for the final documents from a series of the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) meetings that will become material to be discussed by the future leaders of G20.
